Even the name is enough to make people think about it once. And why not, when the story of its foundation is very unusual and fascinating.

This incidence took place in October of 1982. Like every time, Navaratri was celebrated with full devotion. People decided that they would build a temple by setting up the statue of Goddess Durga. For this reason, even after the end of Navaratri,  they did not immerse the statue of goddess Durga. As the statue was placed in the center of the road so the government was not ready to grant the permission for the temple.

They told the Hindu community to immerse the statue. But none of them were ready to agree on any term. The people of Hindu community went on hunger strike and things got worse. The government decided to impose a curfew.

Sadly, nothing changed even after taking this decision. The government, then,  took a wise decision. They decided to break an old kalhari( an alcohol shop) which was there on the side of the road and to build a temple on this place. Hindu community supported this decision.

When the temple was completed, people named it as “Curfew wali Mata ka mandir”. Today, by God’s grace, people come from far places to worship and admire this historical temple.
