“RAJESH KHANNA” aka MADHUBAN TEA STALL

Once upon a time, there lived a man who robbed the heart of this nation with his charisma and came to be known as the “first superstar” of the country. Yes, the legendary actor Rajesh Khanna. But today’s story is not about him, it’s about a person who is spending his life being a “Jabra fan” of this superstar- Mr. Kamal Singh Thakur.

It was the movie “Anand” that made Kamal fall in love with the actor. He pledged to meet his superstar and thus traveled to a lot of places for just a single sight of him but unfortunately, he could never make it. The news of “KAKA’s” demise left him heartbroken and for a final try, he went to Mumbai. Caught amidst a transport strike and a “lathi charge” by the police, he walked miles and miles to visit Bandra and finally saw his superstar. Tears filled his eyes to witness his star loose his shine lying on his deathbed.

Mr. Kamal is now the owner of MADHUBAN aka RAJESH KHANNA TEA STALL near Apsara Talkies area. Numerous posters of Rajesh Khanna on the walls and a continuous playlist of his songs remind us of the love Mr. Kamal still has for his icon. Such was the life of Rajesh Khanna that even though he left the world; his memories will always be with us. And what could better describe his life than his own dialogue “Babumushoi, Zindagi Badi Honi Chahiye … Lambi Nahin”. And thanks to Mr. Kamal for contributing to making this legend’s life as big as he always dreamed.
